Location: Sawyer County, WI | I agree with what you wrote below 100%. If the angler doesn't want anybody to know they'll have to do a better job of buttoning up the information next time. Then again as my dear old Dad used to say, "Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead". Guest - 11/30/2012 11:28 AM I see how it could be interpreted that way. Clearly not every big fish will make it to the boards/internet. I take issue with the fact that people *expect* it to be made to the boards. Probably shouldn't involve countries in the discussion, because at the core is the expectation that if someone catches a big fish it should make it to the internet and when one doesn't people get their undies in a bundle because they can't see a picture. Personally, I'd love to see a photo of a 65lber. Who doesn't? But if the angler chooses to not post it, I'm OK with that and won't think anything of it. It all adds to the mystique... maybe they really do get that big!

Posts: 174 Location: Ontario | If theres been a new record caught, and the fish was harvested...The Angler could be making preperations with magazines and such to cash in. You never know. Its like that lottery winner who goes right to the lawyer and hides til things are worked out.

Then there are the ones that arent released, only to realize when they get to a certified scale that their 57 incher weighs 40 lbs Lot of talk here of guys claiming to see pics of some giants? Where are they? My guess is the typical late fall Musky blindness where anglers briefly cant properly read a tape measure. Prove me wrong!

It's hard to pound your chest keep up the elitist attitude that apparently comes with this sport when you don't have something to hold over everyone else. That fish isn't as big as you say it is..... You're holding that fish wrong.... I say fish can't possibly get that big.... How dare you fish with the warm weather.... Can you believe the crowds on this lake after I bragged about the fishing... I know about this fish out east that you don't..... It's all part of the game.....

Out east they don't care what you think, it is the beauty of fishing out there. BR

And then there are the ones foolish enough to believe everything they read on the internet, and every claimed size in a picture. These rumours happen every single year, and more often than not turn out to be false. No one said these rumours werent true, just something that happens every year. PART OF THE GAME

They would prefer the rumors being seen as false. I think the internet leaks information that they have been able to keep quite in previous years. The goal is for no information to come out about catches. The more it is perceived as false the better. BR

Posts: 19 | Guest - 11/30/2012 11:04 AM It's naive to believe that every big fish makes it, or should make it, to the internet. Ben's right - the muskie culture is entirely different in eastern Canada then the American muskie culture. 100% true
