If anyone out there has used both and is willing to offer their thoughts on how the 2 reels compare I would appreciate it. The reel would be primarily used for big bucktails. Thanks

i like the high speed tranx and the 700 te i use them both for big rubber. i like the tranx better i was on vermilion this fall with i guide he had the pg so we traded for a few cast the pg was effortless to crank in baits there both big reels but i do like the tranx just a little bit better

I own both, they both reel in big baits with little effort. Differences I can think about is price difference,the 700te would come in at $100-$200 cheaper, the Tranx is lower profile, 700te has a clicker that you can switch to for trolling or live bait.

I have both as well..I agree with all that was said above, and will add that you have no lever to flip in order to engage the spool on the Tranx and I would say the Tranx is a better casting reel than the TE700.

i love my 700te it will handle anything i dish out at it. havent fished with a tranx yet. buddy has one so im sure i will make a few casts with it next year.
