Posts: 4266 | Were you in my basement again? I gotta change the locks . I found a box of 75 Perka blanks in the garage a while back, but they were weighted wrong, so I have to drill out the old lead.....which is actually the new lead that has all sorts of crap added to it that makes it much lighter....and replace it with the 1940's lead that I salvaged from my job at the Water Dept. When we replaced an old lead service, my boss would ask,"Why are you digging back so far and cutting out so much lead"? Because I need that soft pure lead to make the weights that I use for my gliders, that's why. Go get 'em Stan. I expect some pictures.....please. Beaver

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | These are the good weighted versions that The Beav was making. They are 8 1/4 inches from eye to eye. Hey Beav, I knew you had some good stuff that you weren't getting out as yet

Posts: 4266 | NO MONEY STAN!!!!! The knowledge that you have shared with me is payment enough for some pieces of wood. No money between friends. Now glitter, that sounds interesting. I got some House of Kolor powders, and have started to make my own new colors by blending different powders together. This time I even wrote down the ratios so I can repeat them. I'll have to send you some of the better ones, and I won't take no for an answer. Beav

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | Boy, neither one of us take no for an answer, now what do we do ? Is this a check mate??????? I have gold, silver, and what I call diamond dust, glitter ( meaning just that) . I have been mixing my own gold and silver powder for scales and pearl powders for years now. I can get a better ratio that way. Also a few blends of paint for more color assertion. We are so much a like my friend it kinda scares me. I bet I am older than you though, SO THERE!!!!! Email me your addy and I will pack up some glitter for you

Posts: 4266 | How about you send me your address and I'll hop on the train and come down for a visit? We have to meet face to face one of these days. I still think a get-together with all of the guys from "The Basement" would be a cool thing. There are many guys that I'd like to meet face to face. We could do it in January down in Florida!

Posts: 1207 Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | I will pm my addy to you Beav, but I need yours too as I have some neat stuff to send to you. You come down anytime Bud, I have a spare bedroom and we can fish year round down here and we have a lake with a 50 inch limit. No offense to the State of Florida but I am not a gator person. ( Live gators that is)... I would like to meet some of the talent on here my self. Great bunch of guys, however, I am not a 100% basement man as I don't make lures, am only a painter. But meeting here in Pigeon Forge would be great as there is so much to do here and so pretty, it is almost unbelievable. I am sure some of you out there have been to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg before. Also I only have 8 Perkas left, they are going fast. Edited by Stan Durst 1 10/30/2012 3:21 PM

Posts: 4266 | The single picture is a 10". The group shot is what the blanks look like that Stan has. The foil lure is also a 10". 3/4" hard Maple made in 2 different weighted styles. The regular ones sink less than a foot/second, and the heavier ones sink just a bit faster. As I mentioned before, I have a box of 75 blanks in the basement that have to be drilled and re-weighted. Watch for them here, I'd never sell them anywhere else.
