Looking to update the 1997 car stereo that I have tucked up under my consel. What are most of you using for a stereo? I don't need any speakers just the head unit. With so many units out there want to get something nice right away but not looking to spend a lot on it (under $150 for sure). Must be AM/FM with at least an AUX jack in the front. Also what do you have or do for an antenna?

Thanks!

I haven't gotten one yet, but they sell a few that are really cheap. Sub $100 brand new. They aren't CD players but I don't own CD's anymore. They do have an Aux jack, and that's all I need....

I use the short flexible rubber antennas on my rigs. Work great, buy at Auto Supply houses.

Thats kinda what I was looking at also but didn't know if Pyle was a good one or not. I too have just a short rubber car antenna but can't get any stations. Mostly want it for Brewer and Packer games and will use the ipod or sd slot the rest of the time.

Look into ESPN radio or XM/Serius radio streamed live via the phone, and plugged into the aux input jack

Clarion M502. It doesn't have a jack, but it's bluetooth ready and you can plug in and control your I-Device directly to the unit. If you go to ebay/amazon you can find one in the $150-$175 range. I put one in my cruiser this year and was pretty happy with it.

If having issues with reception look for an amplified antenna. I put a Metra 44-UA50 in my Dad's boat so he could get Brewer/Packer/Badger games and it worked great.

I just replaced mine with a Sony AM/FM IPod unit that I really like. 4 speaker capabilty, but I'm using only 2 for now. The IPod actually hides away inside the head unit. It has it's own equalizer and amp built-in. Model DSX-MS60, $137.00 and free shipping.... Picked up 2 new Alpine speakers to go with it....it's all I need. Less than $200 for all of it. On Ebay.
