In Vilas Co. is there access to Armour Lake from Horsehead suitable for a 16' boat?
Thanks,
Jaimy

The channel is shallow and rocky, youd probably have to walk the boat through. In normal water levels itd be easier from crab, but theres some spots you may have to walk it through too.

Ok, thanks. Are there any private launches on Armour available for a fee?

No. There is a private launch that somebody owns but they only allow lake residents and their guests to use it. Without knowing this person...there is basically no way to access the lake with larger watercraft. Some of the local guides have access but that would require hiring them for the day.

What is the name of the resort on Armour? I don't see it listed on the Vilas Co. website under lodging and can't find it on the web.
