how does a fall cold front affect musky's? There is going to be a sudden 20 degree drop in weather on thursday so I'm wondering what to expect this weekend.

Toss some bulldawgs, they're supposed to be super effective during cold fronts

So do you expect fish to be on sharp break lines yet or where?

Depends on the water. Some of the lakes I fish have a good number of very shallow fish right now.

Shallow side of breaks in the afternoon. Deeper side in the mornings. Slow it down a bit in the early morning and speed it up a bit in the afternoon.

This cold front come Fri will be a GOOD thing!

I agree with Steve the fish have been shallow. Well shallow for fall fishing anyway. H20 Bucketheads/hardheads have been the only thing that has been productive other than the suckers.

I'm going out on Kinkaid all day on Friday. Next 3 days weather....Wednesday Sunny, High 84. Thursday Sunny, High 81. Friday 14-22 MPH wind, Rain, High 54. Should I be excited about this forecast or should I be upset and prepared to get skunked?

I am new to muskie fishing, especially in the fall. I was always under the impression that cold fronts send them into hiding and clamped their mouths shut.

We got 3 in the boat last week when temps went from 70's to 40's..........we found our fish using the milfoil here in MN.

I was concerned about very high winds but they never materialized.

In the fall I find cold fronts are usually of no concern.
Some of my best fishing has occurred in this situation.
I would rather have a day or two of cold temps before rather than fish the first day of it, but some may disagree.

Calling for 21 mph winds on Friday. From the north. They have been from the south all week, but moslty gentle breezes nowhere near 21 mph. Is this a situation where fishing "yesterday's wind" may not be the best idea?
