What do you think the best rod length is to cast mag dawgs to 2lbers?

Posts: 242 | I have a custom rod that is 10'3" long and this thing can really toss those heavy rubber baits. Though, any longer of rod and I think it would be a little cumbersome to use.

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I went to 9'6", and it was too long for me. Big dawg extended to 8'10" seems perfect for me. I will never throw a 2lber.

Location: Des Moines IA | My plan is to have a 9 ft Calstar custom built for pounders this winter. Using a 9'3 Okuma XH right now and really like it except for the fact it is kind of heavy.

Posts: 262 | I like to use a rod just heavy enough for the Baits, so the same rod for two pounders and mag dawgs is not something I do. Not that a heavy rod wouldn't throw the mags I just like the feel of a lighter rod with the smaller Baits.
