Thanks I appreciate it! Yeah the blood was pretty bad from my thumb but I was so excited it didn't hurt at all lol. And yes it did feel like 30 pounds because I am a fairly strong young man and I could barely lift it past my shoulders! When I do curls I use 25 pounders and the fish felt WAY heavier than those. But I'm inexperienced so who knows

And I've been doing some research and it looks like the world record silver pike was 41 inches and weighed about 18 pounds. Now my fish was 43 inches and it may not be 30 like I thought but I KNOW it was past 20 pounds. So if it is a silver pike then It would be a WORLD RECORD! Too bad I didn't keep it and get official weight and identification but oh well.... It was a great fish!

Na I'm glad it was released safe. I would never kill a fish on purpose. But a world record would have been nice! I should have at least counted the pores to find out for sure if its a silver pike or a Muskie.

Cpain- Sweet, keep casting!
Send me a PM w/your address, I've got a lure for you to try. Confidence lures are good- just change it up, if your best bait isn't working try something new. I personally like Weagle's too!
Have fun!
