Lots of nice boat ramps all around the lake. You won't have to drive far until you see one.

As long as you are saying its your first time, be prepared that launch permits work a bit differently down there. There is no box full of envelopes at the ramp where you pay. You need to buy a permit that hangs from your rear-view mirror off-site at one of the gas stations or bait shops that sell them. You can buy single day or multi-day passes to add up to the days you will need. I personally like to stop at Crash's Landing where you just might also get some good intel on what fish are doing. Nice people there!

Scott's Creek and Alfrey ramps are located off 801 just down the road from Crash's. Like Junkman said dont forget the ramp pass. They keep a pretty close eye on whether you have a pass or not. Stop down say hello to Crash and folks and they will share info with ya. While there for eats try Pop's BBQ (lunch & supper) or the truck stop makes a pretty mean breakfast both also located on 801. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, I did not know about the ramp pass, I
will stop by Crashes and see if they have any helpful
info for a first timer. Will probably stay at the Holiday Inn Express,
have had good luck with them at other lakes.

Thanks

the gas station adjacent to the Hol inn is the most reliable place to get your parking pass, you launch at 6am the other places might not be open , and you are stuck waiting to launch because of the goofy ass ripoff known as a parking pass

I like Claylick puts you in the middle of the lake.

Hey Manitou Dan just wondered why you think its a goofy ass parking pass you must be from Ky. I am from ohio and I have no problem paying to have a nice ramp, if you are farther north I have paid a lot in Wis. and had nice ramps there also. 15000- to 45000 for boat and motor a few bucks to be able to put in safe is worth it. Just me though. Doug

Good Hunting at the Cave! Good advice given. If you are entering from I64 Exit 133, Confort Inn (Great Beds) at the exit, then Pops BQ down the hill at the flashing light, then Crash, then Scotts Boat Ramp. All these places are nice and safe. Crashes place is a great stop and his inventory is top. If he's not open there is a store directly across the street from Scotts. (TNT) Good people there too. One half a mile beyond Scotts is Alfree Boat Ramp, which is directly across from the very popular flats. Both Scotts and Alfree are the long ramps with a walk up to the parking area. Further down you have Warix with the typical short ramp. Warix bay is hot. Alot of good people there to help. Thats why I'm there. PM me if you need help!
