Location: North Central, Indiana | I have a 9 year old boat and the carpeting is looking fairly dirty. Its holding up well. Just wanting to know the best way to clean it. How do you guys clean your carpet.

| If you have any spots, go to WalMart and pick up a can of SpotShot in the household cleaning supplies area. Hit the stain with the SpotShot and let it soak a little before you hit it with the pressure washer. Problem solved! |

Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I use "Dirtex" (Same company that makes TSP -tri sodium phosphate). It does not suds up like other detergents and rinses easier too. Residual suds make for a slippery carpet the next time it gets wet. I mix a concentrate with hot water and brush it into my carpeting with a fairly firm bristled brush. Then pressure washer to flush dirtex etc through the bilge (leave plug open) then I finish with a wet/dry shop vac to help lift remaining soil and water. Elbow grease is a key component but noticeably worth the effort.

Location: Lake St. Clair | 409 foaming carpet cleaner. Cover the entire floor of the boat Anderson it sit for 20 min. Then power wash from front to back out your boat floor drain. Oh yea and make sure you pull your boat drain plug. Haha |

Location: Wisconsin | I detail for a living and I have two very important tools for carpet cleaning both boats and vehicles. First is my hot water extractor and second is my steam cleaner. The extractor probably isn't worth it for a average joe looking to clean once in awhile as it runs north of $1, 000. The steamer can behad for much less and produce great rresults. When combined with mild cleaning solution the results are tremendous. Look for a mcculloch brand steamer with attachments. Roughly $120 and has awide array of uses. Do a youtube search on carpet steam cleaning for indepth info. Becareful what you spray on your carpet as it can deteriorate the carpets fibers. |

Many of the spot removers and cleaners at the store will leave a residue behind which will encourage soiling faster. What you put in must come out or dirt comes back faster. A proper hot water extraction will leave virtually nothing behind and reach under, through, and every bit of carpet fiber without damaging it. This leaves it sparkle like new again. I recommend having it done once a year, and the power washing does wonders and is much easier to do between cleanings. Our family has owned a carpet cleaning business for over 20 years. Trust me, truck mounted steam cleaning is the way to go if u can and will completely restore it. PM me if you would like any help or the best spot remover for boats. |

Location: Ames, Iowa | I too kmine to the carwash using the power soap and rinse. Looks great after using the shop vac to bring up the nap- lotta dirty water in that meaning I could've cleaned it even more. |
