How did the recent cold front affect you on the water? Did it help or hurt you?

Horrible. Hurt so bad. Didn't move a fish and had no takers on suckers. That's what everyone said we talked to. Including bass and walleye guys.

Between 1:30-2:30 boated two, lost one and bagged a couple decent pike, then nada.

Then the front obviously didn't hurt you other than a very limited window of oportunity, so why ask the question...and then answer it?
Just wondering. I wanted to get out today once the wind let up, but had to get some work done around here, darn it.

Never said the cold front hurt. Just wanted to compare feeding windows for notes

Let's compare notes letting everyone here know what you were after; I bet most would find that's of interest to see if Minnesota waters had the same window of activity as Wisconsin, Michigan, or Indiana, and where reports of no action were from.

There was a minor solunar period right in that timeframe. Not sure when the barometer started to rise, I'll have to look.

For me it changed my plans. I had an opportunity to go up north and I passed. Could have made other plans and gone somewhere else. I did not see the value in paying for 2 tanks of gas and staying somewhere. I fished local. Caught 4 stripers and a drum and I got to sleep in this weekend. Will probably head there this afternoon too.

Mercer area yesterday. Saw numerous fish from 9:30 to 2:30... I caught a 46.25 I've been fishing for a year. She wasn't as long as I thought but very fat. Caught 2 others 35,36.5... Lost 2 others. The 2 we lost we're small fish on suckers. The fish we caught we're on baits. 2 on bucktails 1 on rubber.

Fished for six hours, no takers, no follows. Other than the cold front, had a light rain and chop to the water. Used jerkbaits, rubber, Tuff Shads.....Nuttin ! Still beat workin and peaceful day on the water.

Had Clients out on Sat, Caught one on a Suick at about 7:30 am, One on a Sucker at about 8 am, Lost one on a Sucker about 2:30pm and caught one on a Suick at about 4 pm. Nothing real big all in the mid 30's but I thought it was good action for fishing in Blizzard like white out conditions in the morning and heavy winds all day.

Nothing all weekend. Hanging suckers and casting today, casting and trolling yesterday. I did hook a big log today and got to stick my hand in the water to cut the hook, that was nice and cold.

At least I got back in the truck and had a couple of text messages that my machines were down at work and got to go fix that on the way home.

Given the unseasonably cold conditions this weekend, I thought it would be interesting to see how the tournament anglers did compared to prior years during the Greater Wisconsin Musky Touney held on a number of lakes in the St. Germain area.

2010: 21 fish registered from 250 anglers: 8.4% catch rate
2011: 18 fish registered from 214 anglers: 8.4% catch rate
and under COLD conditions this year....
2012: 21 fish registered from 242 anglers: 8.6% catch rate---

Fished all day on Friday, got six on suckers. Fish were boated from 9AM to 4PM, with no 'window' type action.

Fished for three hours on Saturday caught one, lost a nice one at the bag.
