Location: Eastern Ontario | Yesterday my depth finder/chart plotter lost all its menus and two soft reboots failed to correct the problem. This morning after waiting on hold for 45 min. for a technician And a hard reboot failed to restore things I was told my barely two year old plotter was a Bic Lighter and given a number for customer service in the States . While waiting on the phone I tried another hard reboot and everything came back and was reset to factory settings I’m happy. I lost all my waypoints and icons not so happy.
What is the best way to back up and manage waypoints and icons? |

I'd like to know as well...not sure how it all works as I have not tried saving waypoints to a card yet...

Location: MN | If your plotter takes an SD card there will be a menu that will allow you to save waypoints, trails, and routes. Some units connect to a computer via usb cable and allow saving to a hard drive.

Location: Elgin, IL | Definitely worth the time to copy to a SD Card. Just check the manual book should be easy to do. Check their web sight, it should have some instructional steps. You tube can have an instructional video as well.
Had a unit issue and had to do a hard reset. Was not happy but felt good knowing I had an SD Card with saved info. Have an extra with latest update as well just in case it's needed. |
