IF YOU HAD $1200.00 DOLLARS (ESTIMATE) FROM THE SALE OF

LOWRANCE LCX 111 C HD
HUMMINGBIRD 87C
MINN KOTA MAXXUM 80 LB

WHAT WOULD YOU DO

keep the humming bird and put it on the dash and buy 1 lowrance hds 7

or replace it all and buy 2 new finders hds 5's?

what size trolling motor, this is going on a 1760 esox deep v .. is 80 lb overkill? It wont get used to much would a 55 be ok? The pedal on the maxxum is too difficult for my grandpa to use while the boat stays at our lake house.

not exactly sold on lowrance, I could switch to hummingbirds.

ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT.

thanks

brian

First, if you had everything sold, and had $1200 from the sale, you couldn't keep anything because it would all be sold.

80# on a 1760 is fine. Not overkill at all. I thought you were selling the Minn Kota because you didn't like the pedal? If you are asking if a Powerdrive 55 would work after you sell the Maxxum, the answer is yes, it'd be plenty if you are not in big current AND wind, I ran a 55 PD on my last 1760.

Did my answers get at what you are asking?

Half way there. Let's try this. If you had 750.00 dollars to spend on a new unit, and a hummingbird 87c that works just fine.

Would you
(a) sell the hummingbird, and buy 2 new 5 inch units
(b) keep it, and buy 1 new 7 inch unit

Keep it and buy another 7" unit. Anyone else have a comment? I like the 7" screen way better than a 5", but that's me.

Keep the 5" for the console and a bigger unit up front. Use the small unit to get to the spot and the bigger one to work the spot.

Agree...I would go with the biggest screen my budget would allow. Regardless of whether it is a dash or bow mount, the bigger screen will allow you to more easily maximize the units capabilities. Splitting the screen on a 5" doesn't give you a lot to work with.

I would go with the bigger screen at the bow for certain. Also, choose lowrance or hummingbird, but don't mix them. This way you can network the units in the future.

Upon further reflection, keep the 87c at the console, and buy the biggest you can afford at the bow. In the future, you can upgrade the console unit if you would like.

And i would definitely not settle for 55lbs thrust. I think your trolling motor would be underpowered. Go with 70 or 80 of you can afford it.
