Planning to pick up a set of bibs and jacket for late fall sucker fishing. Will be sitting most of the time and the temps would be about 10 degrees to 40 degrees. Looked at the Grey Frabill Suit but think it is not heavy enough. What would be best for those conditions? I already have another set of rain gear that works well in 55 degrees and warmer.

The Frabill Suit(Grey Suit) is definitely not what you want. The Frabill IceSuit, the black one is what you want. I have one and I never wear anything more than a pair of jeans under them all fall and winter long and early spring. I highly suggest it, I love mine!

Agreed, the Frabill Suit is for moving around and sitting in a shack. The Ice Suit rocks for keeping warm no matter what until you hit the zero degree range, then the Snowsuit is the ticket.

Personally I wouldn't wear anything in the fall anymore that wouldn't save my life if I went overboard. I would look into a mustang 2 piece or one piece survival suit.
Part# MC 1524 Part# MP 4225HX for the 2 piece and MS2175 for the one piece. These garments offer excellent warm with minimal layering, Mobility is great also. Plus they'll save your life, and there priced right there with frabill, ice armor, etc.
I would check into them before you make you decision, I think you'll be impressed.

Arctic Armor has a couple of suits on sale. They are warm and provide floatation.

I really like my arctic armor suit. The jacket is extremely warm but very light weight. Good range of motion for fall casting. The bibs are very comfortable and warm. As stated earlier, they insulation they use is buoyant so you will float if you fall in. Check out their website, they have video of people jumping into ice cold water.

Frabil ice suit is the warmest gear I have had. Can't speak for others.

I wear a life vest in the Fall, no matter what warm gear I am wearing under it.

The Frabill Ice Suit has padding in the knees and seat, is articulated at all places you need to bend, has interior cell phone/wallet zipped pockets, has multiple storage pockets that are all waterproof, is teflon coated to repel water and ice, zips to the hips on the bibs to get them on and off wearing boots, has D rings for tools and other accessories, and is designed for fishing. You can literally sit in the slush on the ice and stay warm and dry.

I do the same with wearing a life vest under whatever gear I have on. I bought a flotation suit about 15 years ago and only used it a couple of times before selling on eBay. No question the flotation suit provided better protection against hypothermia, but there's just not as much versatility gearing up or down depending on the weather with the flotation suit versus being able to add or remove layers otherwise.

Kind of reminds me of when I went snowmobiling with a couple guys who swore by their expensive snowmobile suits a while back...  they ribbed me pretty good until one particularly warm afternoon when they were just baking in them... while they were talking about the sudden heatwave I unzipped the uninsulated Gore-Tex jacket to reveal just sweatshirt underneath, and gave them a look and chuckle. When the sun went down I just started adding the layers back on.
