I had heard of a report of a 59" fish being caught from here this summer. Anyone know if this is true or a rumor? Details if it is true! That is a monster if it is!

Haven't heard about one, living near its shores. There have only been a couple true 50" fish ever documented from Pete. They sure do grow fast and fat, to the mid 40 mark, with a few getting larger. There was a low 50" fish caught this summer on the river system several miles down south of Petenwell, which for a spell was documented as being caught from Pete. I've heard the size of this fish listed at anywhere from 50" to just shy of 55". I saw pics and it looked big! Just back from Canada, and i'll research the 59".

I heard from a taxidermist that some kids brought in the skull of a giant. Found on the shores of the deep bowl on Wind Pudding. Go figure right Steve?

Kind of off topic from the Pete, but last week a taxidermist told me that two kids brought in muskies. 37.5 and 39 both out of a local lake here in WI. When the taxidermist told their dad the fish were not legal, he got very worried. Took the fish back quickly and said "You're not gonna call the DNR are you?" "We'll eat the fish, I promise." Kinda funny, they were just kids and didn't know any better. Obviously thier dad didn't either. But a little disappointing considering it was a lake I fish often enough. Anyways, I think they learned and will most likely never do it again.
