I was looking for some info on bait fish numbers/species. I fish lakes throughout northern Wisconsin and have tried finding info on the dnr website with no luck. If anyone knows where that info can be found it would be greatly appreciated.

You can get maps that will explain the species, places and times of year to find the fish. It also tells the forage base, and baitfish species.

Creel Surveys.

I know these don't really have the different types of minnows and such, but it's a start. I know you can get the other fisheries survey results as well but can't find the link right now. Do various searches on the web and you'll find what you need. Lots and lots of info out there available to us.

Talk to the local DNR fisheries biologist, he or she usually has the low down on all the lakes, rivers etc. in the area.

Have fun!
