| Anyone have an actual picture of the layout of a newer Tuffy 1700 Deep V tiller? I have been in an older 2002, but would like to see a newer one that has the center rod locker. Does the center locker make the cockpit smaller or stay the same? With the rod locker in the center, is there still length-wise storage on both sides that in the older models was for rod storage? The Tuffy web site has a drawing of the newer model but its hard to tell these things. If anyone can take a quick photo would be great, thanks... |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Tuffy 1700 is no longer available in a tiller unless it's a custom order. The interior is the same as the side console, just remove the console, add a sonar locker on the port side and you have it. |

| What is a "sonar" locker? how wide/skinny is it - does it hold much, can you lay many poles on top of it? Thx... |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It's a storage box on the port side of the boat that will hold quite a bit of gear and lock up your sonars if you wish. You many lay 4 to 5 rods on it with the rod tips resting on the front deck. |

| Thanks sworrall, in the tiller model is there also a storage locker along the starboard side? Or a ledge to lay rods on? |

| That may work, finding a used 1700 tiller is the hard part...
Hate to consider buying new, especially if custom order - gets spendy. If you had to guess price of 1700 versus the rumored x-176 which do you think would be less? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The 1700 will be less. The custom order is not price related, it's because the boat is no longer in the standard Tuffy offering. A 60 4 stroke has t be propped exactly right to run that hull well. |
