| Just look for the boats. It's the most pressured spot on the entire lake. Good luck trying to fish it. |

| Would this be a good spot to hit if your new to fishing Vermillion? What other areas would be good for someone fishing out there for the first time to ease in to the lake and maybe not feel so intimidated by the size? Thanks |

| Thanks - i was planning on fishing mostly buoys at first since it would be a little easier to atleast know what your casting at...should a guy be casting inside the buoys or right up to them? i will see what others are doing out there too when i get there which will help...thanks |

Location: Lino Lakes, MN | Getting in line and going in circles around Arrowhead may not be your best plan. Look for broken rock and points anywhere on the lake. Your odds of catching fish will go up.
Bouy's are placed by a local contracter every spring. They do not drop them in the same spot each year. Use caution around any shallow structure until you get to know it. The map chips are pretty accurate- Use Caution- slow down until you learn an area.
Fishing the wind helps your odds.
Weeds hold fish most times of the year. On the East end I think there are still weeds North of Pine Island.
Daisy Bay used to have weeds -years ago- I have not fished it for awhile but it holds lots of fish. Think rocks and a check or two of the shallow back end of the bay may pay off- Just saying.
Think deeper humps and back out off of the reefs and fish the deeper water- If you go in shallow on any of the reefs you will see muskies getting a tan. They will move out to eat the soft finned prey.

Do know that the buoys are hazard "AREA's" - in other words there very well could be - and certainly sometimes WILL BE- a rock 25 or more yds. away from those cans - and "just" under water!!
Careful until you know the layout of each reef man!

| as in stay close so you can cast right up to shore or be 2 casts lengths from shore casting at the shoreline?

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | One cast from the shore is fine.... untill you learn the structure...... in most cases your boat will be in 10-18 ft. of water,.... if you don't contact fish,.. than back off a little.if your boat is sitting on top of Bait fish than, ...ya..Back off and fish the deeper water.
