| Anybody know a stretch on the River from tomahawk to Mosinee that I could launch my 18ft predator and fish. I would rather not fish lake Wausau, and Alexander is a zoo on the weekends. Hoping for a section of the river I can fish and not have tubes going by constantly. |

Location: NW Indiana | there are several launches along rt 107, looks like some really nice water in the grandfather and grandmother flowages. i fished the grandfather early in the year and killed the smallies. i dont know much about the muskies yet there but i do plan to give it a try. lots of rocks just under the water so be careful. anyone else fish 'skis in this area? |

Location: NorthCentral WI | Considering hiring Phil or one of the other guys from Hooksetters. They catch big fish rather frequently from Lake Wausau all the way into Lake DuBay. I've also heard reports of multiple 50s being caught during Wausau league on Lake Wausau recently. Definitely some monsters in there... Halfmoon Lake and Mosinee flowage are good areas. And Lake DuBay is probably one of the most underfished lakes around the area but can be a little tougher to hook up.
If going out on any of these waters for the first time, take it sloowwww. Especially on Halfmoon and Mosinee flowage there are a lot of hazards just under the water.
I have not been on the river North of Lake Wausau except ice fishing. Although I do want to get over on Lake Alice sometime.

| I second Nate's comment. You can easily destroy a motor in any of the above mentioned waterways (Mosinee especially). With that said, there are some very nice fish to be had.
Good luck! |
