There is a new one coming out with the 5:4.1 gear ratio. They just announced it this Year. They will be making a 50 and 60 version of the new one. I own the 61 - 5:4.1 and I LOVE it! Best reel I own hands down. I have used the HS 60 before and it is also nice. Guess it depends on what you want it for and how you comparing the two?
Or you can get the 60HS and buy the 5:4.1 gears through ABU. Or contact Pike master and see if he could put the other gears in the reel.

Can't comment on the new ones, obviously. But it's a neat little reel. Samantha has two of them, and I have the 60's. After using hers a few times, I almost wish I had bought the 50's.

Just saw this for pre-sale on another website. Love the new look and am really happy with the 3 Revo Toros I own. But other than being deemed the "saltwater" model, what are really the differences? I know the 5.4 is coming back, but what's the difference between the current HS and this one?

I have a question as well, does the 50 have enough line capacity for efficient use with 80lb line? If used for general use, not the massive dc-13's? Thanks. BR

I run 80lb on my Toro 50 and the line capacity is fine. On a long cast you will loose enough diameter to notice a slight decrease in retrieval speed for the first several cranks, but that's if you're making "bomb casts". I have both a 50 and 60 and even with bigger hands I find the 50 much more comfortable when palming.

Ben, I use a mono backing, and I've found that 50 yards of braid is #*^@-near-all-you-need. I say that because you can get down to the mono backing with 50 yards of braid if you bomb cast a jackpot/weagle/doc. (how often do you cast as far as possible anyway?) Another 30 -40 feet and you would never even see your backing, even if you cut line off every few days. The 50 series holds more than enough line for even the most ambitious casters in my opinion.
