Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Looking for feedback on this reel if you would please. Looking to use it for blades part of the year. Don't need reviews on other reels or suggestions...

Posts: 532 Location: Ogden, UTAH 10 minutes from pineview reservoir | gear ratio is 6:9 to 1 and it will handle double 8's no problem. this reel also great with ripping smaller 7.5" cranks and jerkbaits!... No complaints from me either than i wish the drag was a bit stouter

Posts: 315 | Agree with the above.....you should see the way it can burn a showgirl back 2 the boat!! Best all around topwater reel and like said above it gives you the line pickup that you need for working small jerkbaits fast! Best part is that the reel only weighs in at 11.3 ounces and is small enough to make it the perfect reel for any woman or younger child as well!

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | What kinda resistance with like double 10's if anyone has tried it. My fingers are giving me problems the last year or so and bigger reels are not workin so well for me and im not a foregrip fan.

Posts: 315 | There will be some resistance there bc of the high gear ratio. It will work I have one friend that pretty much sticks to just 300 ej's and he even pulls supermodels with them so it can be done. A good guide friend of mine will have his client use them for blades bc they are a more manageable reel for most to use. Like I said you can push crazy speed out of the small stuff but you will get exhausted trying to "burn" anything bigger, however it may be the ticket for slow rolling tens after dark. Hope it helps!

Posts: 743 | Does 80lb. work on such a small reel or should you go 65?

Posts: 531 | KSauers - 7/21/2012 4:51 PM Does 80lb. work on such a small reel or should you go 65? I have 80lb on one of mine and 100 lb on another, works just fine. Why would you think there would be an issue? I hope you dont think you can cast 150+ yards of line (over 450feet)

Posts: 315 | I generally run 80 or 100 on most of my reels except for this one. I have 65 on the EJ because I am throwing smaller baits with it, and have also downsized my leader to 100# flouro. It is not that you can not run a heavier line but you will get longer casting distance with the 65 and perhaps better action with select baits.
