Posts: 4266 | Anybody else out there have a unit that is Serius Radio compatable? I talked to Lowrance costomer service first, and they told me everything is handled by Serius and that I should call them. After a tour around Serius customer service, I actually got to a guy who answered; "Marine Division." Several minutes later and trying to get him to understand that I wanted service for a GPS/Sonar and not a Marine Radio, he asked for my units ID number. When I gave it to him, he noted that something was wrong with the number and that I needed some letters in the ID somewhere and that I should call Lowrance back. I talked to a guy at Lowrance who was and wasn't sure whether I needed a special antenna or not or if the one built into the unit was good for receiving the Serius signal. I confused him even more when I said "satellite radio". So, who out there knows if I need to buy a special antenna to get the weather radio option for an HDS7-Gen2 unit? It is one of the top features I wanted when I got the unit. Thanks, Beav

Western Wisconsin | Hey Beav. all of the boats we order with the Sirrius weather radio have a rectangular shaped antenna at the rear of the boat installed from the factory. So I believe that you need an antenna for the weather radio to work, Mike.

| I have the module that musky metal posted on both my boats. I use it for weather and and have them linked to my LSS1. Works good I think, thats why I have two. Not sure about the radio part though as my plan is to install the Sonic Hub soon. I found it real easy to work with Sirus over the phone. I suspend the service for the winter season. | |||

| Thanks guys, I found a knowlegeable guy at Serius and found the receiver I need at Cabelas. All Sirius needs is the # off of the antenna to activate service. I'll be glad to have accurate weather radar and up to date reports at the tip of my fingers. Beav | |||

| I believe it is the inland mariner package that has the wind barbs. It will be 29.99 per month charge. I tried the 19.99, but really missed that feature. Anticipating a wind switch is nice for timing obviously. I suspend mine when I quit fishing for the season and then reactivate it in the spring. | |||
