Posts: 410 Location: Wakefield, MI | What is special about sucker rods? I usually just hang them off of one of my rods that isn't being used, curious about what is different. Would be nice to have all of my other rods available instead of one hanging a sucker all day.

Posts: 332 Location: Neenah, WI | The Main difference is the Trolling and Live Bait rods are a graphite / Fiberglass composite Blended Blank. Pure graphite is sensitive and strong however they are more brittle than a blended rod, Pure graphite in cold weather, you can snap a graphite rod into a lot of pieces. Like everything in the world there is a right tool for the job. Blended Graphite/glass rods are the answer in cold weather trolling and live bait rigging. SAINT -BRR

Posts: 410 Location: Wakefield, MI | That makes sense, I figured something something similar for a trolling rod but never considered suckers. The temperature deal makes sense a we fish until freeze-up (actually broke ice a few times to get to open water). I'll have to look into one or two sucker rods, have a few spare C3'S lying around that could get some use.
