| FLASHBACK FRIDAY...............HOW DID YOUR GOALS COME OUT! |
|
| |
|
| It's only Thursday![:0]
I accomplished some of the Thick One's goals. I fished in Jason's boat, I fished more, and I didn't get skunked in the PMTT. That only left one goal I didn't attain for him. I didn't make the Goon![;)] |
|
| |
|
| I didn't post any goals at the beginning of the season, but I did accomplish my #1 goal........catching a 50"er!
The other goals came up short......I wanted to fish more. Maybe next year. |
|
| |
|
| I didn't post on the original, but here were my goals and how they turned out over the year.
Goal Catch a fish on a lure I made
Result: 15min into opener I caught a 44" and the rest is history
Goal: Force myself to fish topwater more ofter
Result: 1/2 my fish this season broke through the roof including this seasons best 45"er in the challunge
Goal: Fish the inside weedline as well as the outside
Result: Spent too much time shallow, but did have some nice days there too.
Goal: Catch a fish on a crankbait and fish them more often.
Result: I finally caught one trolling (first trolling fish as well) during the TCML Championchip. Over all only 1 follow and no strikes on cranks. Got something to work on for next year.
Goal: Fish other water besides tonka and learn them.
Result: Aside from the "forced" trips with M1st and TCML, I was a tonka rube. Room for improvement here as well.
Goal: Fish with more people and make new friends.
Result: HUGE SUCCESS. Thank you to all you that I had the fortunate opportunity to fish with this season. I learned something from everyone even if it was "how to get Mikie a fish"...come to think about it, I never did [:((] . I guess I'll have to try again next year [:sun:] |

| I didn't post here on the original thread, but I am still working on my main goal, and that is to get a fish for my 7 year old son. I did accomplish a few other goals. I did buy a boat this year. I got a fish over 40" for myself. I will work on the 50" and get my son a fish goal tomorrow when I take a half day. I still hope to have more time to work on my goals.

I never tought of goals for next year yet. But I want to keep 100% of my clients satisfied as well as getting a lot of them their first 50+. I also want to see over 150 muskies in the boat this year with at least one over 55 for me.
But most of all be healthy enough to not miss a day on the water.
----------------
I believe I suceeded in keeping 100% of my clients satisfied. I think close to a handfull got their first 50+. I also have well over 150 muskie released as I was at 170 last time I counted. But I am still working on that 55, still have 3+ weeks left for that one. [:p]
The health has been good and haven't miss a day on the water. |

| Wow, i cant believe that my post has been revisited. looking at the goals, ive been spoiled by a layoff many great lakes in Canada, NY, OH, and NY. i personnally have 51 fish over 30", 12 over 40 including a 48 and 49.5. no 50 yet, but i did have one come aboard!!!
My partner has 39 fish, and leads our chapters men's division, but no 45"+ yet.
I wish i could of fished with some new people this year though. Oh well!
I still have 4 trips left to do some fishing. Probably quit at Thanksgiving. Currently have about 120 in the boat over all with 30 or so over 40". Would of liked to fished Webster this year, but just didnt get around to it. Next year, I would like to try the Ottawa or St. Lawrence and fish with some new people. |

|
| * learn the suick like Rollie
* explore new waters in da UP
* spend time on the water with my kids
* make friends with the otters that live in Paint Pond
* catch and release that elusive and majic 50"er
* go on at least one MuskiFirst Outing
* see a picture of Sponge Bob
* take out a pwc using a 1oz hookless daredevil
Funny to read these now. I think I did pretty good on most of them. The otters on Paint Pond have not invited me to dinner, however. |

| I just checked my goal and I made good on every one except fishing during the week. Just don't have the time. My kids caught alot of fish, fished better water and boating quite a few fish. Put my mom on her first two fish also. Been good so far and not over. Would like to get to 60 fish by the time we put the boat away, that's only 7 more to go. |
|
| |
|
| My goal was.....
"I just want to fish with Steve Cady"
I did not have MOON Rise in the tuffy this year.[:blackeye:] [] |
|
| |
|
| - 20 legals in the boat
- at least 1 40 incher
- fish with Bill Schwartz
- return to Pewaukee (it's been several years)
- register another fish in eagle river tourney
- MuskieFirst outing
- Book a guide
- rebuild my motor and get her up and running again
20 legals? NO
40"er? NO (but I did have one in the boat)
Fish with Bill? NO, my fault. Had to pass opening weekend with him. Maybe next year. (I was able to get out with SVL though.)
Pewaukee? YES
ER Tourney Fish? NO, didn't fish it this year due to schedule.
M1 outing? 2
Book a guide? 2
Motor? Yes, running great.
For the most part, I did OK. I did not get out near as much as I wanted which kind of dictated how well I did with the other goals. My electrical boss retired from his full time job so of course booked more electrical work on my off days. (It's my fishing money.)
Some of these goals will be pushed to 2003. Although, I've still got 2 or 3 days left this year and I haven't given up yet.

| 20 legals in the boat: not gonna happen
At least one fish over 46": not yet, keepin the faith....
Fish with many different people: fished with I believe 15 different people (in that time ONLY Jason Smith boated a fish....yes, I curse people)
Win the Midwest Muskie Syndicate Year Long Contest: so far, I am in the driver's seat!

|
| |
|
| No one else boated a fish with you, Slamr? I know someone who did. hehehehe...[] |
|
| |
|
| Please excuse me Mr. Worrall: YES EVERYONE, STEVE WORRALL CAUGHT 2 MUSKIES, 32" AND 34" WHILE FISHING A HALF WITH ME. Then he had to go do girlfriend-boyfriend things, and I went out and popped a 40" that night. Too bad really, the fish were on the move in the afternoon and night that day....missed two bigger before I got the 40"....probably would have been a 2 or 3 in the boat night if Mr. Worrall hadn't had to attend to female matters.

|
| |
|
| Probably would have at least helped you net the 40 but duty called, and I bravely carried out my social duties..[] [;)]
Muskies are important, but the lady in one's life must command attention, undivided, at times. Best of both worlds is to take her fishing!!
[:praise:] |
|
| |
|
| - catch the 50" pike: lost one of about that size on my handmade jerkbait due to a hook bending (the fish it close to the boat and I set the hook upwards instead of to the side so I probably hooked her in the middle of the upper jaw which is a bony structure) out so not yet. My season ain't over yet so who knows ... I was close!
- fish as often as I can: I did, went out over 25 times this year, which has been a great improvement!
- find a good dyneema line: found it, power pro.
- get a second st-croix: didn't happen, haven't been able to locate that PM69HF jerkbait rod yet
