I have a few of these in my box but never have the confidence in them to keep throwing them. I've never thrown them for very long cause it doesn't feel right. Do you guys use and catch fish on spinnerbaits?

Go to a known bass lake and toss spinnerbaits. Get a feel for them. Once you learn the nuances of spinnerbait fishing for bass, go back after muskies with them. Many people think they are a dummy bait, just chunk and wind. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are a great muskie bait when used properly at the right times.

To be honest I don't know what kind. They have buck tail skirts and 2 colorado blades.

caught my first musky on one the other day, after hooking and losing a few on one as well before. they definitely have subtleties you need to figure out to be successful with them, but they are very versatile. they can be fished in wood, grass on off deep structure. fairly weedless (way more weedless than any treble hooked lure). and they are easily customizable by the means of changing blades/skirts/ putting on a colored trailer grub.

Biggest trick is raising the rod tip at the beginning of the retrieve and dropping it as the lure approaches boatside, to keep it exactly in the same part of the water column the entire retrieve. Dropping one that helicopters into pockets and ripping it back out works pretty well if the fish won't come out for it.

Pads and thick canopies...magic. Slide the bait along on top of the pads on it's side, then when it hits the edge...slow down and reel the first couple feet just fast enough to keep the blades spinning. let a muskie that heard the thing get to the edge...and slam
it.
