I just talked with a good friend who went 43 for 51 trolling the south shore in three days. Off the Belle river hump towards the ruscom river mouth 15 to 17 feet. Hot baits were Tuff Shads 5 inch models. Best colors were black sucker and red barred perch. This is Canadian water. Their best day they went 19 for 20 with a 35 inch average. biggest fish was a 42. Leave the 14 inch Jakes at home until October.

Middle of the lake the Big Buck tail bite is starting. Troll them back 40 feet with 4 ounces of Lead. Spanky baits rule on St. Clair. Again Canadian water near tyhe Weather bouy. Mike

That time of year dont troll the monster stuff. Get some MuskieTrain MX6's and MX7.5's. tuff shads, and some 6 " and 8 " Ziggies and you will be set.
Perch, Nat walleye, sucker, carp, St.Lawrance are some good colors to get you started.
They will hit big baits but you will catch more on smaller stuff and some big ones.
Last year most of our biggest crankbait fish all came on MX6's
Good Luck,

6" Ziggies & Double 8 tails have been putting good numbers of fish in the boat. Most on the small side with 50's being caught as well.

Was down there last weekend with a buddy. Got a couple casting and he lost what would have been his first one...twice. Got a 45 on a Badwater 10" Cabbage Ghost and the other one ate a Super Squatch bucktail. Saw several other fish as well. Action came over deep weeds and the eaters came around moonrise.

Trolling always works best on SC. Prior to the rain today SC was super clear so hopefully this rain got it a little dirty. Water temps on Sunday ranged from low 70"s to almost 80 depending on where you were.
