Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | You are kidding right? If the fish can tell the difference between a normal and a round top, then they surely can see the hooks on the lure and won't hit them, right? Only difference if the action is different. I've has some Suicks run great and get the paint stripped off them and other that don't and look like the day they came out of the box - and only the fish know what ones they like.

Posts: 994 Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | I have more than one suick and until last year never had an issue with getting something fishy outta one. I bought a guys "dog" he said upfront it just didn't run right. I messed with it and have it hanging on the wall of shame now. Who's the real "suick-pert" on this site to generate some ideas on what to do. Tuning done 18 ways to Sunday, added sq. nuts to it, still off. It just is like dead in the water, dives to the left 3-4 times and then goes to the right 3-4 times. Goofy.

Posts: 39 Location: NE Twin Cities Metro | I agree that does sound like a good one. I have 9 suicks with 2 being round bellies. No two run exactly the same, similar but each has its own personality. Just need to spend time to figure how it works best. Therein lies the beauty of a suick. My best ones are similar to what yours does, the erratic ones are the best. They may not seem to be, but trust it. As long as it doesn't porpous and it stays under it is liable to get bit.

What "Should" they do? I have dozens of them and not one runs the same as another. They are all tunable and they all dart or jerk in different directions. The key is to figure out how hard or not how hard to pull them.

Posts: 245 | I have normal 9" Thriller, recently started fishing it and the first day i caught two pike over 37" and had a fish around 42" follow. It dives right 1-5 times, then left 1-5 times and so on, it's awesome! So the one that "doesn't work" probably works!
