Wife wants to go somewhere that has a lodge so she doesn't have to cook. Northern Wisconsin or UP. Musky fishing is required. Late to the game. Any advise July 21-August 4? Most places are booked but I'm hoping someone on this site can help. My kids are 10, 8, 2 yrs old. Help! Thx

Vacationland Resort, Thousand Island Lake of the Cisco Chain. Great place for a family, very nice cabins and good fishing for musky.

Sunrise lodge on Vieux Desert if they have an opening. Awesome place, activity director for the kids, great food, great people running the camp. Air conditioning, wifi, cable, all in the northwoods, and reasonably priced.

Deer Path on Upper Buckatabon. Nice cabins, little swimming beach. Great lake to fish. Tons of panfish for the kids. Lots of largemouth bass to keep them interested too. Oh, and it is great musky water.

My bad, didn't read where your wife didn't want to cook.

Try Bent's Camp on Mamie Lake. It is located on the Thousand Island Chain. Lots of good water to explore. Great looking cabins and one of the better pizzas in the northwoods. Great menu too....

Thanks for the info. Going to Sunrise on Lac Vieux Desert. What kind of water clarity, and structure does this lake have? I assume there are some big girls in there due to the size of the lake? Is it a numbers lake as well? Would love to get my 8 year old on the board with a musky! Any general lake reports are appreciated.

I haven't heard of any real good LVD reports in a few years. Includes walleyes and muskies. But, any lake that has a spot called "Valley of the Giants" certainly has potential!

we had a mini-vacation and stayed at the Gateway in Land O' Lakes. it's a slice of history and we had a great time there. they are vintage hotel rooms ... clean. the lodge itself has a lot of history and we really enjoyed it. we did some trap-shooting and had dinner there. i'd recommend it and they might be your best bet for availability during busy times.

Oh yah, isn't the Gateway interesting?!! Love that place. Tons of history and it is just an interesting building to explore.

And yah, I haven't been on LVD for a few years, but from what I've heard, the water levels are low and weeds/rice are taking over. It isn't exactly on my list of lakes to be fished when I am north. But all it takes is one big tiger report to get me back over there...
