| This may be a stupid question/statement. Last week I was working a 9" sallow czar. I was using the pull, retreive method (dont know what you call it) and I know these are only supposed to run 1-3 feet, but the bait was literally inches under the surface and seemed to roll on it's side when closer to the boat. Am I doing something wrong or? I've worked Shallowraiders, Jakes, etc this same way and never have a problem. Any suggestions? |

| Yeah it's got me all jacked up too. I have heard nothing but good things about these so I went out and bought quit a few. I will try the tuning thing once. It's just frustrating when you can't keep the bait under the water 10 feet out from the boat. |

Location: Hayward, WI | Try making a short cast and reeling it straight back without any pulls or pauses. Watch to see if the bait runs to one side. If so adjust the front pull point accordingly. My guess is the bait just needs to be tuned a little. If none of that works give Tyrant Tackle a call and let them know. They'll probably either have some advice for you or replace the bait if they determine it's defective.

| Also, don't forget to check the hook hangers either. Sometimes they become out of line and can cause a bait to run to the side as well. |
