i had the same problem with the h3o's as Jbo above had...lenses popping out all the time. i then went with a pair of ocean wave's with the mirrored luminator lenses. they are only slightly mirrored though if that makes any sense...you can still see your eyes through the glass. i tried some other brands with darker lenses and found myself not wearing them in low-light conditioners because they were too dark. with the luminator lenses i wear them in pretty much all light conditons and can still see very good down into the water. i also like them alot for driving too...

Any recommendations for sunglasses that fit over prescription glasses? The only ones I've seen are the ones called "cocoons". Are there any others out there or is that all there is that you know of?

I was at Cabelas today looking at sunglasses. I need to get prescription sunglasses or the fit over kind. They had cacoons and a brand called "Fitover". Most kinds are very bulky. When I try them on I feel like the old lady that can barely see over the steering wheel. I think I am going to have to get prescription sunglasses to be happy. I checked out the costas and they seemed very nice. I found the costa fathom and it was $159. Not sure how much to get prescription though.

Wiley X Zaks here. They don't let any ambient light in from the top, sides or bottom.

My dad wears Polar Shields. He got his at Walmart for around $20. I've seen them at Gander Mtn. for about the same price. I'm sure they have them other places.

What color would work best for the Costas? Water would be a typical wisconsin flowage.

Here's what you need:

Lenses block 99% or 100% of UVB and UVA rays
and/or
Lenses meet ANSI Z80.3 blocking requirements. (This refers to standards set by the American National Standards Institute.)

And for bonus protection:
UV 400 protection. (These block light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers, which means that your eyes are shielded from even the tiniest UV rays.)

20 bucks at Wally World:

i have a pair of costa's ran across them on the net one day and got em at just over 100 bucks but i like that unlike a lot of polarized glasses these ones actually have glass lens so they do not scratch at all, Love the Costa's

for low light these are the best i've tried or owned and i've owned A LOT...every guy i fish with that tries them ends up getting a pair and they are cheap...trust me on this one...H30 w the Polar Clear lense...$35 bux. I end up wearing them on cloudy days and they are the bomb for sunrise/sunset...
for other times I wear Costas w amber / blue mirror lense...they rock.

I couple of years back I purchased a pair of Costa Releases. They come with three interchangeable polycarbonate lense sets, smoke, amber, and another color I barely use. They ran about 95 when I bought them. The glass lense quality of the 580 s is not quite there but they have been great glasses and they are very light weight. I would highly recommend them if you want a good quality name brand interchangeable without spending a ton.

I've triedseveral brands and was also nervous about spending over 100 dollars on glasses. Finally got a pair of costas 3 years ago and couldn't beleive the difference. They are awesome I deffinetely see more follows.I bought the fathoms with green mirror glass lenses.Get the costas you won't be sorry.Saving up for a second pair I'd like to get the man-o-wars by costa for the real bright sunny days. The fathoms are great for themuggy rainy days.Russ

Just got a pair of H3Os tonight....landed a decent fish tonight....hmmm. Seriously though, they cut as much light as any other pair. I think they were a good buy.

"which ones fit "Big Heads" best?"

I have a head that would qualify for Boone & Crockett and I prefer the Costa Harpoon frames. The TP3's aren't bad either but stay away from the Fathoms as they are rather small for us large headed folks! I have a pair of Fathoms that I got and don't ware anymore because they are just to small, I suppose I should think about selling them.
