Location: New Hope MN | Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I always manage to lose the very tip of the tail on my dogs. Every single one of em is missing the very tip. I'm sure I'm snapping my cast too much.
Besides that, do you guys keep fishing them without the thicker end tail piece or do you weld on a replacement tail? I don't have confidence in the baits without the tip of the tail. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | I keep fishing them even without the very tip you are talking about. I have had it happen on some and found the tips laying on the deck. Getting bounced around in the pedestal box i tend to have this happen more often. If I keep them in the tackle box or a plano it doesn't happen as often. |

| I do lose tails on the cast (whether a fish nicked it or it works its way off over time) but mine usually break off in random places and not often the tip. I wouldn't fish one without the tail boot but if you pay attention when you do lose one they almost always float so troll in to where your last cast was and IF you find it it's fairly easy to melt back on, just keep a torch handy. My advice with dawgs is if you have a hot color always keep a few in the boat... because on the days the fish are going good you'll definately need em. |

Location: Land of the Musky | I have replacement tails for Reg, Mag and Pounders on my website. I sell them in 6 color packs. Once these are sold they are gone forever though. I do not sell enough to warrant having them in my inventory. Don't worry, I have about 50-80 6 packs in each size still.

PS-You can see them at the bottom of each of my SuperD pages. |
