| I would like to change the fuel filter on my 1989 evinrude and can't seem to find it, LOL. I think it may be clogged. I was running full throttle yesterday and it bogged completely down on me a couple times. Once I got it re-started, and ran slow it was fine. Ran full throttle again and it bogged down again after running for about 20 seconds. Seems only to do it when running wide open.
If you know of anything else that may cause this please advise.
Thanks

| Doc,
It should be a white tube/cylinder running straight from the inside of your cowl to the fuel connector. Usually near the front or side of the engine. Very cheap and easy to replace. E-mail me if you have any more questions.

| Phil,
Thanks for the info. I must be blind because I still cannot find the darn thing. Anywhere else it might be?
Thanks

| This time of the year you might be having the carbs freeze up, or maybe water in the line.
Maybe the pick up screen in the gas tank plugged too.
Maybe bad fuel pump |

| Thanks Jomusky, however it has not been that cold down her. I also noticed a little fuel at the bottp, pf the motor case, and fuel line to tank doesn't hold pressure. |
