Looking to get a very detailed map of Eagle Lake, just don't know where to buy one. Also, I'm guessing it comes in different sections and I'm staying at AML. Any input would be appreciated!

Hot Spot Map is what I have used over the years up there ... It is detailed pretty well. Love AML - Herbie and his camp staff are the best.

Don't sweat it, herbie will mark you up a map that will be better than anything you buy. They also jug most hazards

Thanks for the input guys. I know Herbie is the best but I would like to get one ahead of time so I can check out some of the structure.

Jugs are only in Herbies area and some west. East is a crap shoot. I never know where I am east and south. Get a guide at least the first days. there are no maps worth anything. Hotspots is the only one . you can see where you are and that's it. don't rely on it for anything other than that.

They jug the stuff close to camp, like any of the other resorts, but there's a LOT of stuff to hit down South and East that's not marked, and it's in places where you wouldn't expect it. Herbies got a whole box of busted props for a reason...

The Hotmap chip shows where you are, but as many have said, the chips dont show everything that is under the surface. I've fished Eagle for the last 4 years, I have the 2009 version of the Canada Chip and the 2010 version. The 2009 version shows more detail than the 2010 version. I called and asked Navionics about the change in the data shown. They informed me that that they can only use the data supplied by the Canadian officials.
i also dont know how many people will be using the new feature of sharing data. It may help but I'll be curious to see. If you can, look on ebay for a 2009 chip. Ive been looking and they are not readily available.

Quoting Herbie when earlier this year I asked him about which chip was best:

dave,
the best so far is the navionics premium canada chip.
steve

That said,

1.  Get the Hot Spots Map and have Herbie mark it up for you.

2.  Hire a guide for a day or 3, especially if you are headed east.

3.  Listen.  Herbie and his staff are the best, and will tell you what's happening.
