Location: Madison, WI | I have a 07 115 merc 4stroke on my tuffy 1760 and currently it has a Solas 13x15 4-blade prop on it. Well yesterday my prop had an unfortunate meeting with a rock and now i need to replace it. I do have the factory 3-blade prop which i believe is also a 15 pitch but before i put that one on, i want to know what is the best pitch for this boat/motor combo. I am not impressed with the 4-blade i had on with either hole shot or top speed. Any help? |

Location: Delavan, WI | I would be more worried about your lower unit than what prop you are goin to put on next- sometimes if you hit something issues do not show up right away - but most likely there is internal damage- your output shaft might be bent and the bearings sure can't take a hit along with chipped teeth on the gears- my advice would be to have it checked out and most of the time if you have a good insurance company - the damage would be covered along with the prop- Good Luck! |

Location: Madison, WI | well i was barely engaged into gear so the speed i hit the rock at was 2-3 mph. From the lack of damage to the underside of the skeg, i think i may have kicked the rock up into the prop as it actually bent over one of the blades but i will probly still have it checked just want to know if i should be ordering a different prop as well? |
