Posts: 723 | Well we made it to our 3rd year of doing this, it seems to be working out ok. a few gliches here n there, but for the most part I think everyone has fun participating. Now, sorry for the late response, there were a few matches fished opening weekend, a few missed attempts as always, Brad Mathewson is on board already with a 34" to beat Amy Ringenoldus. Posts: 723 | Here is the results from JJ Loos vs. Amy Ringenoldus seems getting your hair done and having to put a pot on your head doesn't make sense, but it sure helps in landing a fish! Good job Amy on your 36.5" Attachments ---------------- Amy 36.5.jpg (69KB - 145 downloads)

Posts: 723 | Here are the results after this weekends matches. first we had John Falendysz vs. Dean Thiel John caught an undersized fish, pretty none the less, and followed it up with a 37.5" which the whole story behind hooking and landing it was unbelievable! He will have to tell it though... Another match was Jeff Young vs. Kyle Roble in which I helped Jeff out with a 40.5" There are 2 more matches Im waiting on for pictures, but I can assure you all that its a BIG fish to a well deserved lady angler! and a win for someone who hasn't won a match yet, both exciting victories! There has been quite a few matches fished lately, and the fish are really cooperating now! So get those last matches set up for the month, I think its going to be an exciting playoffs this fall. good luck to everyone! Posts: 723 | ok, here is the result from Nate Daus vs. Dave Kierstead this was from August 25th, Nate caught a 41.5 with a swim noodle for an item. Also I had matched against JoMusky on the same day out of the same boat with Nate. Since we can't fish a double match, we had to fish 2 solo matches. well, I took the fall on this one and lost to Joe. But thats ok.... there was methods to my madness Anyway, Joe's partner Will caught a 39 for his match on Saturday with a brandy bottle as his item, and then also caught a 36" tiger for Joe's match against Bill Ahrens on Sunday, in which the old Orange life jacket around his neck was the item. I will post the pic of the tiger when Joe finally gets around to emailing me it! And last but not least, Sonnet solitifies her championship spot from a match this last weekend against Mark Steinbach, Craig caught a dandy 46", pair of shoes around the neck was Sonnets item. And unless I am missing a pic from someone, that concludes our regular season for Matching. Good job everyone on fishing your matches, I think we did better this year than the last 2 combined. Posts: 723 | As of Sept 1st, the teams that advanced on to the semi-finals were: John Falendysz, Branden Ahrens, Sonnet Uhlenbrauck, Craig Uhlenbrauck, and Joe Junion. Sonnet received a buy into the championship round from her 50 incher, so that left the 4 others to square off. Names were drawn and it was John vs Craig , and Branden vs. Joe The results of John and Craigs match was John boating a 37" to advance on, his item was the dreaded beercan necklace that nobody could ever catch a fish with. For Joe and Brandens match, out of nowhere, Branden runs a train of fish on Joe! Him and his dad Bill landed 4! 35, 40.5, 41.5, and Brandens PB a nice 45" way to go guys! How the championship round works since there are 3 left, each person fishes the other opponents once. Out of their 2 matches they fish, they add up the total of points between the 2 and the person with the highest talley wins. Posts: 723 | Here are the results from the familly fued. Sonnet and Branden Ahrens had to square off to TRY and settle some tension from their sibling rivalry. Lets just say nothing is settled, and the beat goes on Even Bill Ahrens made it a point to get involved, boating his personal best musky against his own daughter..... I wonder how the holidays are going to be this year? LOL kidding of course. good job guys, seems you are onto a great bite! Posts: 723 | Here is the result from John and Brandens championship match, John was able to score a 38.5 , which as it turns out, is the same fish my dad caught 2 weeks prior in the same spot on a sucker. Gotta love C&R! So... This weekend is the final match between Sonnet and John, Branden fished his 2 matches, He has a 44 and 47" fish, Sonnet has a 36.5", and John a 38.5" Remember its total points for the 2 matches you fish in the final round. This last match is the deciding factor of who will go home with the honor of hoisting that awesome championship belt, and their choice of a St Croix rod. Good luck to those matching this weekend, and to Branden who will be in his treestand worrying about his sister beating him! LOL What a great year its been for fish hitting the bag, I hope theres a couple more Edited by dogboy 10/25/2012 3:56 PM Attachments ---------------- john 38.5.jpg (175KB - 131 downloads) john 38.5-2.jpg (129KB - 143 downloads) Title Belt.jpg (149KB - 142 downloads)

Posts: 723 | Well none of us really saw it coming, but we all probably had a good guess as to who was going to walk away with the title this year I think after getting so close the first year, and having a rough year last year, she was back with dertimination to seal the deal. Congrats Sonnet on a 4th quarter clincher! Once again you showed the boys how its done LOL John didn't boat any fish in that match, so he was out. So that left Sonnet to try and top what her brother had. She lost what Im told was a giant in comparison to the fat 43.5 she did catch. (that thing is a toad btw) Remember that the championship round was your total points between both of your matches. So as of 3pm on Saturday Branden was still leading with with his 2 fish totalling 160 pts. Sonnet still had 3 fish under her belt but only tallied 150 points. They were pretty much on their way back to the boat landing when Sonnet bagged a 36incher to seal the deal. Now that is truly a battle till the end! Congrats everyone on all the fish registered this year, I hope to see you all enter again next year.
