What technique are people using when casting bondy baits? Straight reel? Pull pause? Violent ripping?

Look for an very interesting article by Gord Pyzer to come out this year in In-Fisherman detailing just that. On the open waters of St. Clair I just kind of lift and drop swimming it through the open water, never letting it hit bottom. As seen here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dEFqNINmLA . On a side note, since I was only fishing about 15 ft deep in this vid, we put a blade that was one size larger on it to help slow the fall. That is the only time I change the blade size. Thanks, Jon

Great video Jon...you rock man!

(Your video editor needs to lay off the caffeine though--all those quick cuts just before the 3-minute mark nearly gave me motion sickness...LOL)

That's no excuse--just shoot the footage, and upload it to a private server. He can download it and cut it locally on his end. No sweat. Make take some time to transfer it, but it would work. You could also write it to an external drive and UPS it out to him.

Where there's a will...there's a way.

Brandon's pretty darn slick behind the camera. Tom, I think that vid was shot specifically to go with the music so perhaps the issue is just the music.

Brandon made you look good in GQ didn't he, Jon?!

I would love to hear the general area that has musky on the Potomac. I've fished about 6 bass tournaments there and have never seen one, of course I've only fished from the bridge in DC and south to Nanjemoy. I'll bet those catfish will just blast that Meal Ticket thinking it was a blue crab...Thanks for buying.

Jon,

You would have to go I 70 west from D.C. and hit parts of the river once you get to the Hagerstown Md area to farther west up towards Cumberland Md. Also to be able to fish most of the river you would need a flatbottom boat with a jet drive on it. There are parts of the river like Big Slack water and Fourlocks outside williamsport md that are deep enough to hold a non jet drive but has very high pressure from pleasure boaters and gets shallow very quickly.

Your welcome and i love your baits...
