| which knot do you use to tie your leader to the dyneema line? I use a double improved clinchknot and have yet one to fail but I like the bucher power knot. I can't seem to make it close up however when I tighten the wrappings in this knot. Does anybody use this knot? Maybe some tips? Thanks![:)] | |||

| I use the Trilene knot. I watched at sport shows for two years as anglers tried to tie a stronger knot. Never saw one beat the Trilene. It will not slip, and provides a double line surface to the hook.[:sun:] | |||

| The Palomar knot has worked for me without any problems for years with both mono (which I no longer use) and braid (PowerPro). This is an easy knot to tie with very little error occurring. I use an Albright knot for connecting mono to my PowerPro it's easy too... Tony Grant www.kymuskie.com | |||

| I use the Bucher knot. The key is to work the slack out of the wrap before you start tightening the knot. Pull out the slack and begin tightening slowly. Continue to follow this procedure till the line is tight. Sometimes I will pull ou the slack several times before completley tightening the knot. I believe this is the best knot available it is basically a double improved clinch knot with a double Palomor addition. Good luck, Murph | |||

| murph and sworrall, do you have a sketch of these knots? tony, doesn't the round power pro give problems with the palomar? I use power pro but I haven't tried the palomar yet. I use a blood knot for tying nylon backing to the braided power pro. Maybe that's a leftover from my flyfishing days? | |||

| Have used the Palomar with Musky Master, Spider Wire, Tuff Line and a few others, never have had a knot failure since using it. Only knot I'll recomend. | |||

| Any way we can pictures of any of these up. I have known several knots to be called the same name or several names for one knot. I think the one I use is called the improved palymar. Whatever you call it it works for me. Mark | |||

| I start by tyeing a spider hitch about a foot on my braid. Then I got double to go to my leader. I was using to small Blitzen Shad earlier this season and was forced to shorten my leader. To make a long story short, I got bit off. It really made me sick. It had to have been a giant. It bit through 80# whiplash like it was nothing. That was my first bite off ever and I hope my last. I always think about that fish and I hope it is Ok. I had it hit the same bait the day before at the same time and it broke a tooth off in it. I found a 48"er floating a week later and cut it open but no lure. I really hate the thought of killing a fish. Terminal tackle is something we need to always remind each other about...............THANX, RAZE | |||

| The polamar is all I use. I like the double strength at the swivel. Its never failed. | |||

| I started using the Uni Note this year and have yet to have a problem with it. I like it because it ties fast and seems very strong. Cory | |||

| Here's some links with good diagrams of all discussed above except the Bucher knot. http://www.mariner1.com/pub/index.jsp http://home.cfl.rr.com/floridafishing/knot.htm http://www.marlinnut.com/knots/index.shtml http://www.marinews.com/fishing/fk_main.htm | |||

| I don't know the name of it but it is in the Tuff line box. No failures here. Kind of a pain to tie but it works. | |||

| You can go to joebucher.com go to fishing, then down to tips and articles. The power knot has a step by step drawing. Easy knot just be sure to slowly pull the loose wraps as you tighten the knot. Good luck, Murph | |||

| World's Fair Knot strongest percentage to line test, easiest to tie. I'm the only person using this knot, and I took a lot of grief from the gang at Cass Lake, because it doesn't have all the twists of the power knot or the improved locked clinch knot. I used it for Bass for 5 years, and tried it with superline out of frustration with the twisting knots. So far I haven't tested it on a heavy fish, but I can tell you the knot holds when I am snagged on logs.... Also, since it gets really easy to tie after you've done it a few time, I never skip tying a new knot when I hit the water: http://www.sarasota-fla-fishing.com/WorldsFair.html Later, papa joe minneapolis | |||

| Power knot works well forme. Yes getting the slack from the loop out is key to making it easy to close | |||
