Was wondering if anyone has used the Scotty Orca rod holders? Wanted to know if these rod holders can be used by pointing the rods into the water with tips down. Do they hold the rods in without pulling out and losing everything? Like the quick release action they have!!

Thanks

Mount has a lock to keep holder attached when pulling rod out. I've got one folbe for my kayak and bought an orca for the second rod holder. Orca was much tighter and more difficult to remove the rod so I gave it away. The folbe has the same quick release but it just works much better.
I don't troll tips in from the kayak.
A lot of people seem to miss the inboard arrow when installing scotty rod holders and have the arrow pointing outboard. That is when everything pulls out and is lost.
