I recently posted asking for advice for fishing Petenwell and wanted to thank everyone who answered me and everyone who answered all the other questions I have posted while waiting for opening day. It really is nice to have this resource available to get some questions answered.
In 11 days I will be making my first dedicated Musky fishing trip ever. Targeting Petenwell lake with what I am sure will be a massive headache seeing as how I have a bachelor party on Saturday (the reason I am not fishing opening day of the southern zone). So if anybody has advice on how to deal with a massive hangover let me know. I am sure I will be popping asprin like tic tacs and drinking bottled water like it is going out of style.

Once you hit one of those stumps your hangover will disappear instantly.

best trick i have learned... the night before, try (i know it will be hard, but try) to count your drinks. drink a literal cup of water for every one drink you had. Always works for me. The best though is to drink one cup of water after every beer, shot, or drink you have. then right before you go to sleep take 3 advil... will counter act the hangover, you will feel like a million bucks and want to go fishing anyway

A friend of mine who is a nurse told me vitamin B-12 pills are good. Take a couple, few drinks in and you should be set.

I know this is just crazy talk. But what if you drank in moderation and fished in excess?

Guaranteed puke on an empty stomach in the morning, though.

Let me ask my cousin. He has been hung over for the last 5 years on each saturday and still pushes through. Some mix of frozen pizza, rockstar replentish drinks, water, and always McDonalds on the way to the lake. Ride is about 1.5 hours so he gets a small nap and away we go for 12 - 15 hrs. Never sleeps in the boat always fishing. If it was me I would want to go die somewhere. Last week he was pulling in his driveway the same time as me, him from the bar and me with the boat.

Yikes that is a rock star.
I worry about my buddy. Seems like in Canada whenever we have a late nite we have to go to shore a half dozen times. Must be that cheap beer he drinks.

Aside from making sure you stay hydrated during the night, I've found that a B Complex before bed helps. In the morning? Bacon, eggs, hash browns, as much food as you can muster, combined with orange juice, a few cups of coffee, and plenty of fruit. Then during the day, just keep on drinking water. You'll be peeing every half hour, but peeing is way better than puking! If it's really bad, a bloody mary with a few extra shots in it won't hurt.

Not an expert on hangovers anymore, but just suck it up and fish. But I know a guy.

Magruter has a sure fire way to fish all morning after a bad night of drinking! All on live radio, no less! Opening day, around 2005, I think it was.

Best hangover cure is a bottle of pedialyte or its generic equivalent, no contest. It tastes like syrup but nothing readily available outside of a hospital will rehydrate you faster. It's an electrolyte solution made to rapidly rehydrate infants who have been dehydrated by the runs etc. One pedialyte before bed and one in the morning and you will be amazed. Supplement it with water and food throughout the day.
