Has anybody checked out the new swim-baits, top-water, and tinsel tails by bass pro under the xps series.
They look awesome!

They look good but there isn't enough of a price difference for me to not purchase from the big-name brands. Not saying they aren't good, but I'm far too loyal to choose these over the products I have used and have had confidence in for years.

I don't think Bass Pro needs spammers. lol They do a good job on their own. Heck they send me with about 20lbs of catalogs and mail every year. Keeps me going though the winter! ha ha

LOL! My wife brought me down the mail right after this post and I had a flyer in it from Bass Pro. Love having a BP 45 minutes away form my house now. I hear they may be putting one up in Minneapolis next to the Mall-O-America. Its reported to be the biggest one they will ever build. I think they are on hold right now with this lovely economy we have.

^^ I was talking to a few guys that worked for Tracker boats at the MN sportsman show. They said they also worked for Bass Pro shops, I was asking about the one that is supposed to be built in Bloomington and they said that "its in the works, but it is going to take a long time". They said they had originally planned to have it done in 2012... obviously that is not going to happen. I also did some research and it seems like any state that has a Cabela's does not have a BPS, with the exception of two or three. So they had given me a guesstimate of roughly 5 years before it was done, but they did say it would be the biggest one ever built.

I would love to see one here, I just hope it takes less then 5 years, as it is something that has apparently been in the works for a long time.

I have one about 45 minutes away up in Harrisburg Pa and i havent seen the new lures they have out but have used the XPS with double 6's and they are ok for the price. There just like any other double bladed bucktail,u have to jerk them to get the blades spinning sometimes.

After living in Chiagoland with a Cabela's neaby, and now in Des Moines with a BPS> I'll have to say Cabela's blows BPS away. Just my .02$. Everytime I got o BPS to get something for my boat, they almost never have it in stock, and have to order it. Not only that, I have to come back to the store to pick it up or pay shipping. Might as well just order it from Cabela's!!

I prefer Bass Pro over all of the others. However, Bass Pro (Harrisburg) has almost nothing worth purchasing. Cabela's (Hamburg) has a much nicer selection, but I can get stuff from MTO shipped cheaper than driving to Cabela's and purchasing their products. For instance, a Jr. Cowgirl is $29 plus tax at Cabela's, but they're $23 at MTO. Add $3.50 to $4.00 gas to the equation and it's a no-brainer. And, majority of what they offer has to be order into the store anyway. If I have to wait a couple days to get my stuff I might as well get it from MTO.

What I prefer about Bass Pro is that it is consistently organized. Cabela's has stuff in one aisile, then another, then across the fishing section. Until it's all done the same product will have a couple different prices. It's awful. I will say, however, that this is specifically talking about the Cabela's in Hamburg. I stopped at the one in WV on the way to the Ohio Show and it was incredible. Everything was clean and orderly. They definitely have good management out there.

I also like Bass Pro's house products. Their rods/reels are much nicer than what Cabela's offers and comparable items are normally cheaper at Bass Pro.

bass stuff or general tackle: Bass Pro
musky stuff: MTO

I always check with MTO or Tackle Industries or Big Wood as first choices for the new purcahses. If they don't have it or can't get it the Joe's, Thorne's or Rollie's are next. The big boxes are normally last on the list for Muskie gear.

TI def. has the market cornered in that dept- most def. b/c of your stellar customer service, philanthropic acts, and strong social media presence.

You oughta be proud to have such loyal customers whom constantly go to bat for you with the tenacity of a raccoon on PCP.

Im fortunate enough to live 30 minutes from BPS headquarters and distribution center,so it gives me access to anything they carry in there system.I have tried out there XPS musky baits and they are not "quality" made baits. They wanted something in there lineup below other brand costs and thats what they did....and it shows.I still spend a fortune there.
