Location: Duluth, MN | Yo the guys who own and use them, how much worse are they to palm than conventional round reels. I have the opportunity to pick one up at a great price and would love the input.

Location: Eagan, MN | They are bigger than a 7000 or a tranx, but I palm mine. Like baldy I'm a bigger guy though too. I was looking at the tranx this weekend, thinking I'd replace my 700te w/ one, but the size difference wasn't enough to get me to pull the trigger. |

Location: Eagan, MN | No, there is a noticeable difference in comfort, just not enough for me to justify $500 at this time. I'll give my 700te another season and think about it some more. If I didn't already have the 700te, I would buy the tranx. |

| You will need a pair of bear paws to palm the 700TE. Great reel for power and moderate speed though. Not exaggerating, it makes 13s feel like mush. Also great late season reel, the power grinds through the ice. |
