I own a Revo Toro winch, as well as a mid range Revo Toro 61 in the 5:4.1. I have been looking a little at the Curados and may pick one up, depending on what I find out from here.

They seem kind of dainty, like they would not hold up to anything we throw, but I know people do use them. Is there a certain one I should get if I were to buy one? any suggestions would help. Pro's.... con's... ect?

Thanks

There's only really one option as it looks to me as though you are a lefty. If you are happy with the two Revo Toro's you already have why not find a Revo Toro 61 HS (high speed) 6.4:1 with 29.6" of line pick up per handle turn.

I am a lefty, But I have no problem going righty... I used to own a 400B in a righty and that was fine so I am sure it would not be an issue. I want an HS... Just not sure yet... trying to exhaust all my options

I've pounded a Curado pretty good for the past couple of years, and they are definitely durable. I've used them for ripping dawgs and minnowbaits mostly, and have no issues. They are built like tanks, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

I'm not sure on the newer Curado's as I haven't used one, but if you can tell from my username I did own/use the older version. It was nice but something there that I was just not happy with, switched to using the Revo Toro's and never got that feeling again - I now own a 61 Winch and a 61 HS.

I have 2 curado 300 E's' and love them. I dont throw anything over 6 oz, pulls 8's fine and is great for everything else. Built solid! great reel!!

I have a 301E and a 301 DSV...love em both and use them for gliders and jerks. Pick one up and buy a nice counter balanced power handle from Dave's reel service and you wont be disappointed at all.

i have 4 toros and 2 curados and when it comes down to it i would use my toros first.. the toro is just a better reel for musky fishing.. not to say the curado isn't a good reel because it is as i like mine.. a revo for example can handle 10's a curado can't but they can both throw a Mepps #5.. IMO $ for $ you get more reel out of a toro..

What's the difference between a 300E, and a 300 DSV? Ratio looks the same, as well as 5 bearings?

1-Color
2- The E has a bearing under the drive shaft the DSV has a bushing
3- The E has a Titanium Line Guide, the DSV has a hard nylon insert, not braid friendly.
