They now have pictures of these boats loaded on Rangers website. Was curiouse to see what peopls thoughts were on these boats. I think they are unreal.....These boats seem to be a great all around boat, small river, to larger bodies of water. Not sure if I would take these out in 3 footers but anyways a real nice looking rig. Anyone hear what these boats will be listed for???

The one at the Northwest Sport Show with a 70 Yamaha is listed for $26,999 show price.

Looks like a beefed up Tuffy Esox Magnum/bass boat hull to me.

Looks like it could be THE PERFECT muskie tiller -- the best of both worlds. Low to the water, stable and fast, like an esox magnum, but with a hull that can fish bigger water. At 17'7" long and 87" beam it's a good sized boat, much bigger than the esox mag, and it looks like Ranger put some serious thought into design and engineering. Small tillers are often slow, and it looks like Ranger contemplated those issues with this design to maximize performance. Plus, it's got a 9'6" rod locker!

For the Tuffy fans, wouldn't this boat be VERY similar to the mythical x176 that has generated some hype but isn't yet in production? Seems like an obvious comparison to me -- comparing this Ranger to the Esox Mag is like comparing the x190 to a boston whaler of the same length.

looks like a nice boat...basically a shallower version of the 617 tiller they made for a couple years...which were 17'8" by 86.5" ...buddy just bought one last night for 14k...

Looks like a Sweet rig! Looks about the same hull depth as the new style 618's and those boats can take on some serious waves.

The X176 will be built, the tooling is in house. It's up to Fiberdome when it's to be released.

Ranger just put up a bunch of pics of the new 176 VS on their Facebook page.
looks like a nice rig for smaller waters. Not very similiar to an Esox mag at all.

Here's an email news release I got from Ranger:

NEW FOR 2012: RANGER 175T ANGLER
Ranger pairs its fishing-first heritage with exceptional features, styling and performance in a widely-acclaimed, multispecies tiller design
FLIPPIN, ARK. (March 27, 2012) From its earliest days, Ranger Boats has created some of the most popular multi-species boats on the water. It's a strong heritage for innovation and total performance that continues to earn the respect of anglers the world over. Whether it's the focused design of a vintage 1600V tiller or the confident fishability and responsive performance of a historic 680 model, that same legacy of leadership is regularly reinforced as these designs remain in high demand on the used market to this day.

Highlighting their legendary dedication to anglers chasing a wide range of game fish, Ranger Boats recently introduced the 175T Angler, a 21st century design taking cues from several of these classic Ranger multi-species platforms. The newest member of the company's multi-species lineup touts an elevated level of fishability and comfort while delivering remarkable performance and style to today's tiller-boat angler.

Measuring 17 feet, 7 inches with an 87-inch beam, the Ranger 175T Angler holds 23 gallons of fuel in its tank, which is mounted under the front deck for enhanced load distribution, easier planing and better rough water performance. Rated for a maximum 75 horsepower, the new 175T also features a front casting deck and cockpit covered in a slip-resistant coating and topped with snap-in marine carpet, which can be removed for easier cleaning, while the transom of the boat allows room for an electric kicker motor and splash guards for anglers who back troll.

“Our history in producing versatile tiller powered fishing platforms dates back over 30 years. That experience, coupled with decades of refinements, has led us to the 175T, a boat that's wide open, has ample storage, is extremely affordable, and is made to handle whatever the day calls for,” said Ranger Boats Vice President, Keith Daffron. “You might fish for walleye one day, musky the next and bass the day after that. We think this boat will be a perfect fit to an already stellar Angler Series lineup.”

Available with a wide range of precision-matched outboards, the Ranger 175T Angler features an instrument panel with a full complement of gauges and rocker switch controls and comes standard with Lowrance Mark 5X Pro electronics. Additional standard features include a 6x2 on-board battery charger, premium marine upholstery, recessed tie cleats and a 50-inch livewell designed to help keep big fish comfortable and stress free.

In addition to room for today's large-screened electronics at the console and the bow, there are also generous storage areas throughout the boat, including an insulated cooler with drain and space for rods up to 9 feet, 6 inches in the starboard-side rod storage and room for rods up to 7 feet in the portside rod storage.

Other highlights of the Ranger 175T Angler include a sliding captain's seat to allow for easier and more comfortable driving for a variety of anglers, integrated access panel at the stern for the quick access to the bilge pumps; recirculating livewell plus cup holders at all four corners of the cockpit as well as at the bow.

Paired with a custom-built, single-axle, RangerTrail trailer featuring LED lights, the 175T Angler is easier to maneuver and enjoys the smooth-trailering benefits of custom alignment and individually balanced wheels. Up front, the center swing jack retracts flush to the frame and creates a more balanced load, making it even more secure on the trailer. Combined with stainless steel fenders and aluminum wheels, matching spare, exclusive COOL Hub lubrication system, Road Armor protective coating, torsion axle suspension, and swing-away tongue, the RangerTrail trailer delivers long-lasting peace of mind and easy towing.

I saw the Ranger at the Sportshow and it is sweet....as far as the hull at least. I think its like the Tuffy X series - a mid-height freeboard so good for most walleye applications, but GREAT for muskie, smallmouth, etc. However, I think Tuffy could come blow Ranger out of the water with an X-176 if they could do the following: 1) rear casting deck option, 2) bow storage (Ranger virtually has NONE) and 3) possibly a center rod locker. If Tuffy does at least 2 of these 3 things you can sign me up.

Already done in the tooling according to Fiberdome. As said, it's up to them when they will release the boat.

The Ranger 175T is the 681 hull. Those who had or have one know that hull, know what it will do, and it's what you describe. Nice appointments, yet not overly blinged up, all in all a great ride.

Good to see the boating industry growing a little.

Has it been verified that the 175T is the 681 hull? If that's the case, they should sell like hotcakes given the cult following the 681 has.

If Tuffy eventually comes out with a similar boat, the key to beating Ranger will be the performance of the hull. I agree that bow storage would be nice on the Ranger, but I think the Ranger's storage looks pretty good overall with two rod lockers and a large compartment in addition to livewells.

Yes it has been confirmed. Price runs from $27.5 K to low/mid $30K with a 70 to 75 HP depending on engine brand, electronics, and options selected, according to price quotes we have received.

How can the 175T be the same as the 681 hull when the 681 was only rated for 60 horses?

The hull apparently has been expanded in length and beam, which increases HP capacity, but may not effect the running bottom. George told me the original hull they started with on this model was the 681.

Watch the video.

Very good video. 34 mph with a yamaha 70 or merc 75. how does that compare to the 1760 with a 75? I was really expecting upper 30's based on what i had previously heard. Maybe the x175 might be the boat when it's ever introduced. Do yo think the x176 will be a bit faster ? 37-38 is what I was hoping for. How about rough water handling? I'd like to see some pictures of the hull to get an idea of how deep it is.
Steve, does the hull look closer to the x series or the deep v's?

It looks like the X190. Almost as wide, and 17'7" I think. Mid/upper 30's is likely with a 75.

My 1760 with 75 Opti Gets 34mph with three guys and full load regularly... Load doesn't seem to effect performance very much at all. I hit 38 on an extremely long run with a light load last summer. Love this hull handles ruff stuff amazinly. Last year trying to beat a storm I was heading right into the wind into about 1.5' waves and my uncle who has a real bad back was laying on the front deck. He peeked up from his napping position and looked at me and said I didnt realize it was that rough out. He could hardly feel the bumps. If the 175T handles anything like the 1760 it will be a big seller but the hull looks like it is shallower. How that will affect rough water capabilities is yet to be seen but I imagine guys who know a lot more than me have a pretty good idea...
