Well - I have launched with:
• the plug out
• the straps still attached to the trailer

But yesterday I finished off with the inevitable - I forgot to take the motor support off.
First trip of the season. All was god except every time I started to hit the gas a bit more in forward the dam motor would rattle and shake!!! When I trimmed up the motor to see what was wrong - there it was still hanging on for dear life with the bungie cord. I travelled about 300 yards with it on!!! LOL.
No damage other than my ego:)

Your still 2 up on me but I once tried to launch with the trailor tiedowns still attached at a launch I use 4 or 5 times a week I kept backing up and stoping and couldn't figure out why the boat wasn't sliding off.

Another time I had the drain plug come out about 4 hours into the day. I was playing a small muskie when I looked down and saw water coming up through the floor drain. I opened hatch in the back casting deck to see the batteries almost under water. I got the bilge pump going started the engine and put it in forward ......released the fish, then felt around in the water to find the drain plug. By this time there was enough water out that I could speed up to drain the rest of the water of course I forgot to stow the trolling motor and as I increased speed I got quite wet. I now carry a spare drainplug and I know immediately where it is and I now have an automatic bilge pump.
