| I'm looking at buying a rod that wont break the bank. I would like some opinions on the Shimano Compre, Okuma EVX, Cortland Endurance, and Daiwa Heartland. Thanks |

| I like the old Compres. I'm still undecided about the new ones. The old ones only went up to 8'. The new ones go to 9', but they have handles that are short.
One of the best rods for the money is the 9' Tackle Industries rod. I love mine. There are tons of threads on here about them, and I'm sure you'll get lots of feedback. Hardly a day goes by when there isn't some type of discussion and positive feedback on TI rods. Light, well-built, long handles, some models telescope down for storage, customer service is excellent, the list goes on. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | Not sure what you are looking to spend, But you may be able to get a steal at the Musky expo. Also try the swap and Ogara's this year. I myself have never been to the "swap" before but plan on going this year. I have talked to a few guys that have been in the past and that may be a way to really get some great stuff for better prices.
On the other Hand. I plan on picking up a TI 9ft XH this year at the Musky expo. Right now they are all on sale for $120. If you look at the majority of rods in that size you could easily spend $300 or more and still not be at the top of the chain. I would look at the Tackle Industries rods, as I have not found a better price point yet.

| of the ones you mentioned id say go with the okuma 9'3 XH in the new split grip...but if youre up for others you cant beat a tackle industries rod |

Four years ago ,my gear got stolen and when I contacted Jason about a couple of his rods to finish the year, he had them to me the same week.Great rods at the same price as Okuma or TI. I love the live bait rod for sucker fishing in the fall,second one will be here by fall.Whichever rod you end up with though, there really is not a bad choice among those three brands |
