Is cedar a good wood for making crankbaita? I have some 5ft cedar 1X4's & thought I might try making some larger trolling/crankbaits.

One of the best woods there for making crank baits. I have built thousands of cranks out of cedar. Its light and moves well. Mike

As Mike said cedar is great for crankbaits. I think it gives them a better action then most other woods. All of MuskieTrain's crankbaits are made from clear cedar.
Good luck,
