| Hi all, hoping you can recommend me a St croix LT rod. Currently have the following:
Tackle industries 8' XH
St Croix LT 8' MH top n tail
8'6 is about as big as I want to go - so was thinking the Sling Blade H or the XH Big Dawg.
Considering what I have right now, what would be the better choice in a St. Croix?

| sling blade is a great all around rod, work with mag dawgs and pounders as well
big nasty is a good choice as well

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Definitely go with the Big Dawg. It is IMO the most versatile. It can throw everything from small baits in the spring to pounders. I would not be comfortable throwing pounders on the slingblade. (i own the slingblade) |

I've never used the TI XH, what do you throw with that one?
Not sure yet, probably my super d's and maybe smaller jerkbaits.
I don't want to go over 8'6 in length, so I'm interested to know what is a more versatile rod the slingblade or big dawg |

both pretty versatile, but I'd lean to the Dawg. |

| I have to say that I would go Big Dawg over sling blade IMO I use mine for all kinds of different things and really like it!
I like the sling but what your asking the Big Dog will be a better choice. |

| Ok I thought I was going with the Big Dawn, but wondering - the biggest I usually go is double 10's, and for plastics I use the 8oz Super D's.
Would the Sling blade be a better option for the above lures and smaller baits? Or would the Big Dawg still be a better all around choice. I have an 8' XH and 8' MH already.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | The big dawg does better with 10's and mag dawgs if you like to rip plastics like I do. Buy the big dawg and don't look back. It will throw everything and is a great general purpose rod. |

Location: Smith Creek | SB loads up a little too much (on 10's) in the 8 for my liking but casts them much better than the BD. I use my SB for dbl 9's and smaller and prop topwaters and rubber up to 8-9 oz. I use my BD for 10's and bigger, jerkbaits, and rubber over 6 oz.
If you burn 10's you'll want the BD. |

| Yeah 8oz seems to be the biggest I'll go.
So what I'm hearing is that the Big Dawg will do everything that the SB will do, except it might not be as good as a crankbait rod or as accurate when casting smaller baits? |
