I just got an IWATA dual action airbrush. I've never used an airbrush before and am looking forward to trying it out. I figured I would start off by spraying one of my Suicks that needs a color change. I was wondering what kind of prep the Suick will need before I paint it? I figure I'll sand it and primer it...anything else? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Just scuff it up with some 400 grit or a scotch-brite pad and wipe it clean with some denatured alcohol before spraying over it. You can do that with any bait that doesn't have an epoxy clearcoat.

What would you have to do if it had epoxy clearcoat

Thank you for the replies! I appreciate the help. I got the airbrush yesterday and still haven't had the chance to hook it up yet...two kids under the age of three keep me busy in the evenings I love the baits I've seen posted on this site. Lots of talented people on here. I'm looking forward to doing some spraying.

Like wise here, will offer any help I can.
Even with epoxy you can use 4oo or finer, Just buff the shine off and clean real good. You are ready to spray.
