So, I'm going HDS-7 Gen2 w/ LSS-1 Bundle... Do I go Insight (built in) or Base Map with Navionics Premium?
Can you run structure map with the base map & Navionics?

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I'd suggest going with the base map unit and buying a Navionics chip or even the new Lowrance Insight HD & Pro card. You will be amazed on the maps the Lowrance cards will have, plus it's only $99.
Here is the link to the new Lowrance Insight HD & Pro cards. I saw the maps at the Minneapolis Boat Show and they look awesome! Hi-res 1-3ft contours offered on a lot of lakes as well!

Just so you know, mapping is mostly done by third parties, so you'll be surprised on how good these maps look for less money!

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Here is the link to the Gen 2 HDS-7 bundle, no rebates. You must be looking at a Cabelas catalog with discounted/discontinued products in it because the rebate is only offered on the Gen 1 units and that ends Feb. 12.

I didn't mean to cause any confusion. Their catalog says there are "mail-in rebates" for HDS Gen2's. Might be their own rebates, not Lowrance? Rebates are for Lss-1 and Bundles from $100-$300 off their "sale" prices.
Just read them again. I guess the rebates are valid from 2/16-4/30. 8 more days 
I'd scan and attach the ad, but don't want to get in trouble for copyright issues. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Yeah, something is definitely not right there. Rebates end 2/12 on Gen 1 units from Lowrance. I can't find anything about rebates on Gen 2 from Cabelas.

| The gen2 rebates. don't start until the 16th. Most rebates were around $100. If you buy a unit and buy the structure scan seperately the rebate is $300. The rebate is through lowrance so you could buy the unit elsewhere and still get the rebate as far as I know. Just a heads up |

| Yep. The guy at Bass Pro showed me the rebate form on Saturday. $100 the HDS7 Gen2. I can't speak for any other models.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | The rebates are not on the units, it's with the Gen2 units as bundles with the LSS-1. If you look closely, the ONLY way you get the rebate is if you buy the LSS-1 StructureScan module. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I have a scanned photo of the ad but can't get it small enough yet big enough so you can read the small lettering.
If you get the Cabelas catalog, you'll see each rebate says when you buy HDS-5,7,8 or 10 bundle. The rebate is on the LSS-1, not the unit. |

Location: Maine Township, MN | The bundle has Insight mapping. If you don't want it, you can save about $100 if you go with the base w/ ducer and the LSS-1.
The Lowrance site has all the info for what lakes the Insight mapping covers. |
