What is the best rod for working these lures - not "best" as in manufacturers, more in terms of action. 6' 3" jerkbait rod, 9' heavy, etc.

Thanks in advance.

7'6" to 8'. Lighter tip for the 6" version, slightly stiffer tip for 7-1/2" versions. Not sure what works best for 10" and 12" models.

I use a modified 7'0 XH... modified as in extending the handle to make it 7'6 and its been working superb for me last year... I also use the same rod for WTD Topwaters along with Warlocks... I find that 7'6 works best for me after using various of rods... If you have friends who have various lengths and strength/action, I would suggest that you ask to try those to find what works best for you before purchasing anything else...

The downsizer for the 6 inch and the jerk for the 7.5 inch models. Throw them all year long and thats my choice high speed reels to pick up slack as well

I'm thinking Tackle Industries new XH 7' 9'' Jerkbait rod might be a great option for the 10''/12'' Phantoms. My 9'' Phantom softail (length measured of body only) weight is 10-oz. So I would think the 12" Phantoms are going to be approx, 12-oz.

James mentioned in a past post that his new XH 7' 9'' jerkbait rod will have approx, 35% more power than his current XH rod, a litttle more backbone and a little less tip flex but not a broom stick.

I'm thinking this might be the ideal rod if you can find a comfort level with the length.

Although were waiting for James to get it to market maybe he will chime in with his thoughts on this rod with the above baits.

Al. PS, I use "The Jerk" for the 7.5" phantoms and find it great.

This bait is an ideal example of the bait for the new Tackle Industries jerkbait rod I am making right now. The rods listed as "Coming Soon" on my website will be ready in 8 weeks.

If you want an 8' or 9' XH rod I do have all of those in right now too. Both split grip and full grip. email me if you want a list of retailers that have them.

Here is everything I have ready to go right now.

That hot pink full grip 8' XH rod might be just what you need Musky like pink!

I love my 8' MH St Croix LT "Top and Tail" I have it rigged with a Curado 300. Its an easy to handle, bass rod on steroids. The tip is extremely soft but has plenty of back bone to handle big fish. I got it after I found by 8' H Premier to be too still at the tip and stole from the action of the bait.

I use a 7'6" Heavy Action St. Croix Mojo Musky for the 6" and 7.5" models and for the 10" Soft Tails I use a TI 9' XH.

Just wandering what my options would be for a tackle industries jerkbait rod in the 7'6" to 8' range for small to mid size jerkbaits like hellhound or puppies and mid size phantoms .the new 7'9" coming out sounds great but sounds like its for heavier lures or would it be good for mid size?or will there maybe be a 7'9" heavy instaed of xh in the future?maybe James can chime in thanks
